Pete

 Beat Buckets

Pete was born in Texas and then moved to a small town called Buckeye, Arizona right outside Phoenix. He later moved back to Central Texas where he lives today.  He has been behind a set of drums for over twenty years. He has always utilized his musical ability for God's glory. His family has always been supportive in his music. His main influences include Chad Smith (of The Dave Matthews Band) and Carter Beauford (Red Hot Chili Peppers)and Live. He also loves the sound of  the hair bands of the 80s. Pete says his big brother has been an inspiration in his life and is his HERO.

Doug

Bass

Doug's been around music most of his life on both sides of the stage. His musical influences span across an eclectic mix of artists. "On any given day you might find me listening to Count Basie and then, an hour later, hear the sounds of the Beatles or Sufjan Stevens rolling from my office. I love that performing gives me an opportunity to explore how all these influences trickle into my efforts."

Doug, and his wife Dana, just became new grandparents. Ask him...he has pictures. Dana's in the band also so you can read more about her below. "I have three great kids in addition to my grandson so I feel blessed," Doug adds.

Doug works at TAMU and has been an active member and deacon at First Baptist, Bryan for many years.

Mack

Lead Axe / Vox

Having been born and raised in the Lone Star State, Mack Robertson’s local roots are deep. From the age of eight, when Mack’s father gave him a five and dime guitar, he has pursued his passion for strings.

Growing up in a musical family, it was natural that his first musical influences included his uncle, R.M. and his cousin, Ricky. Blessed with the rich influence of these and other great musicians, Mack got an early start playing in bands and doing studio work in the late 1970’s. His styles of interest and experience are varied and range from gospel to metal.

Apart from family and church musical influences, Mack also has been inspired by artists like B.B. King, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, The Beatles, Stones, Led Zepplin , ZZ Top, and almost any artists who are classified as southern rockers.

Mack came to know The Lord at the age of seventeen, and has been in Christian music and ministry since 1980. Having served as a youth pastor, and later an associate pastor and worship leader, Mack’s personal ministry has been growing and deepening over many years.

He, and his wonderful wife Debra, are active members of College Heights Assembly of God. They have been married for over 22 years and have been blessed with a beautiful daughter, Cierra, a son-in-law, Benjamin, 2 grandchildren (Journey, and Israel), and a third grandchild on the way.

 David

                         (Rhythm Axe)

A long time Bryan resident and vocalist for several endeavors, David had a vivid dream in the spring of 2005:  he was playing electric guitar?  That dream inspired a renewed passion for music to worship God and reach people with effects, riffs and feedback not usually heard in traditional Christian formats or venues.  David is honored to be a part of Etched in Stone and hopes to contribute musically and professionally to the bands' continuing efforts to lift high the name of Jesus Christ (in a nontraditional way!)

Dana - Keys / Vox

Dana Sweet is a true “lifer” in the school of music. Having started her formal training on the piano as a child, she expanded her sights quickly to encompass a wide range of instruments and musical styles. From the basement tones of the bari-sax to the sweet song of the flute, Dana explored the instrumental extremes. From classic and modern jazz to contemporary Christian, Dana immersed herself in a wide variety of performing styles.

Dana joined EIS this year to lend her vocal and keyboard talents to the group and along with that comes tones and emotions that (let’s face it) don’t reside in our tough-guy DNA. Dana is married to our manager and bassist, Doug Sweet.
